Summary of the First Humanitarian Mission: Dhamma Yatra. Visiting and delivering essential supplies to alleviate the suffering of war-affected refugees

Date: 29–30 July 2025

Target Area: The four border provinces, including Surin and Si Sa Ket

■Point 1 – Phanom Dong Rak District. Visiting and encouraging the brave soldiers. Time: 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM

■Point 2 – Wat Ban Tamphung, Na Di Subdistrict, Mueang Surin District. Time: 8:00 PM – 9:00 PM. Welcomed by Phra Khru Sunthon Punyaphinan, Abbot and Ecclesiastical Subdistrict Head of Kae Yai (Dhammayut). Refugee status: Vulnerable groups Total: 120 people (children and adults)


30 July

◇Point 1: Wat Chaturasamonrangsarn (Si Chao Khun), Na Di Subdistrict, Mueang Surin District. Time: 08:00 AM. Received by Phra Khru Thammaworakhun (Prasert), Abbot and Ecclesiastical District Head of Sikhoraphum (Dhammayut Sect). Current residents: 8 persons / coordination unit

◇Point 2: Wat Pa Khamsuk, Kakaew Subdistrict, Mueang Surin District. Time: 08:40–09:45 AM. Hosted by Phra Ajahn Chalermchai, presiding monk.2 monks in residence. Refugees: 180 people (children and adults). Donation offered: 12,000 THB. Also at Point 2: Prathat Bu Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Moo 1, Prasat District, Surin Province. Refugees present: 159 people

◇Point 3: Wat Khok Phra, Na Di Subdistrict, Mueang Surin District. Time: 10:05 AM – 10:25 AM. Presided by Phra Samuh Suphot Jiravuttho, Abbot. 6 resident monks. 160 evacuees (children and adults). Donation offered: 11,000 THB

◇Point 4: Wat Sukhettaram, Na Di Subdistrict, Mueang Surin District. Time: 10:30 AM – 10:36 AM(Short visit due to lunch offering time). Delivered supplies and took commemorative photos. Phra Ajarn Pichet, Acting Abbot. 7 resident monks. 70 individuals (reported request to return home today). Donation offered: 5,000 THB

◇Point 5, Luang Pu Dul Atulo Samran Niwet Dhamma Park, from 12:45 p.m. to 1:15 p.m., a team of government agency representatives and volunteers coordinated to manage and provide essential services, including food and basic healthcare, for approximately 1,100 evacuees, which had decreased to 750 individuals on that day.

◇Point 6, Wat Suttithamaram (Wat Luang Pho Yuen) in Mueang Surin, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., another team of government officials and dedicated volunteers continued to coordinate the provision of food and basic health services for an estimated 850 evacuees.

On this occasion, we would like to express our deep appreciation and heartfelt anumodana (rejoicing in merit) to all benevolent networks and supporters who have contributed to this noble cause.
